Well, I'm pretty sure everyone has to take 'em in some subject or another. Mainly, what prompted me to start the thread is the SAT (which I just took a couple days ago) and the ACT (which I will be taking in a couple days, though I took it once before). Are you going to take either of these, dragonelle? I ask because I knew you're homeschooled (or something like that), so I'm curious if you are going to take it, too.
And, of course, if there is anyone else on the site [other than dragonelle and myself] who reads this, feel free to talk about it here as well. It's just that, at the moment I'm typing this, it's basically just dragonelle and me.

Sorry, double post. Anyway, now I'm taking an SAT prep class, so that I can do better on the SAT when I take it again. I don't know what I got on either of the tests yet that I already took, since it takes a few weeks to get the results back. I am finding the prep class not very helpful, and I really wish my dad would have listened to me and just bought me an SAT prep book rather than sign me up for the class... I seriously think I could learn more by just reading and practicing.

I'm sorry, it says you started this thread on June 9th. I never saw this thread, which is why I haven't replyed. So, sorry but I'll reply now.
In some states (like Colorado) when you're homeschooled you have to be state tested every odd year. In other states (like Kentucky, where I live currently) you don't have to take them. So, no I don't. But I've heard they aren't fun, and I'm glad I don't have to take them.
I hope you did well on your tests! And, I hope you get soemthing out of your class. I probably would have gotten more out of a book than a class too.

The class is better now... I'm getting more out of it now then I did the first couple of days. I think it's helping. I'm not stressing about either the SAT or the ACT right now, so they won't necessarily be fun, but they won't be un-fun either, if you get what I'm saying.

Well, that's good. I understand what you mean about it not being un-fun. Kinda neutral, huh? Well, I'm glad I'm done with school for the year. When does that class end?

Class ends this friday, so I won't have to go to it too much longer. Thankfully, it's only two weeks long total.
In other news, I got my test results back. I didn't do all that great on the SAT. Actually, I did okay on the reading and math parts, but not well on the writing part. But I can live with it - I'll just work on improving my score. On the ACT, I did really well, especially considering I still haven't started my Junior year in high school yet. I got a perfect score on the reading part of the test ^_^, and did well on the other parts, too.

Well, that's cool it's not very long.
Wow, that's cool! Even though you didn't do very well on the writing part. Seeing as you've written all these great stories I'm surprised that's the part you didn't do so well. I'm sure you'll get it up though. ^_^ That's awesome you got a perfect score on the reading part! I'm glad it went fairly good all over.
Well, speaking of school, my mom and I just picked my classes for next year. We have to pick them now, so that my mom can pay for them and that they can get me the materials for that class. The materials are basically the CDs for them. So, now I know what I'm going to take next year. ^_^
P.S. GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? THIS IS MY 200TH POST!!!! WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Ok, sorry, but I had to make a big deal of it!!!!!!!!!

YAY!! I is happy.
Yeah you can ask, I don't mind, lol. I'm taking American Government for my History, Geometry for my Math, Creative Writing for my English, and Forensics II for my Science (I'm SO happy I get to take that!) And for my electives I'm taking Bible, and Crime & Justice.
I'm really happy about my classes. Well, except Geometry, but I won't be happy with any kind of Math.
So, I don't suppose you know what you're taking yet? I don't really know when public schools (or Catholic schools as I think you go to) say which classes are available. When is that?

I signed up for my classes at the end of last year. I suppose that I technically don't know if there's enough room for me to get into all the electives that I want, but the chances of me not getting a class that I want is very low, since my electives (spanish and band) basically don't have a size limit.
Anyway, the classes I'm taking - English honors, band, Spanish III, physics honors, Church history honors and Catholic social doctrine honors (one semester each), Algebra II honors, US History Honors.

Ah, well that's cool. All those classes sound cool. I can't believe that it's already July! For most people summer is almost over! For me I still have July and August, and a little of September. It still doesn't really feel like summer to me. Not like it normally does anyway. So, I don't know, my family and I are hopefully going camping next week. So, maybe that will make it feel a little more like summer.

I've got a little over a month before school starts again. It makes me sad... but oh well. It's school - I've survived it since preschool, so my Junior year of high school shouldn't kill me. (Or will it?!?)
Camping is fun, though it can be kinda hot this time of year. My family and I go camping once or twice a year, but only in the broadest sense of the term: we sleep in a tent for a couple of days, but in the park of a town, with about ten thousand people all camping around us. (good old folk festivals...) Hope you have fun camping! (if you go)

Yeah, I don't like thinking about starting school either. I'm going into my Junior year too! I hope my or your Junior year doesn't kill us.
Yeah, it can be hot. However, I'm more worried about it being too cold. Seeing as though it is about 65 out right now, and I'm wearing a sweater. We are having some very weird weather this summer. It's normally like 99 out, with a hyeat indext of like 105, and a humidity of like 85. So, normally I'm, dying of heat. But for some reason this year has been very cool. So, yeah we are officially going camping. My mom just got done reserving the campsite. Ours is a little more rural. We are at a campground, surrounded by trees, and right next to a huge lanke that we swim in. It's so much fun. We're going for two nights starting on the 28th. Which means I won't be on for a few days that week, I may post something about me leaving, or I may be lazy and let this be my post.

Well, hope it stays cool for you while you camp!
Anyway, getting back on subject now... what about regular, in-school tests? Are they very hard when you're homeschooled? Or do you even have to take them? Tests at my school can be hard or easy, depending on the teacher and the subject. I tend to study a lot for the harder ones, but I normally spread it out over several days so that it doesn't feel like cramming. Then again, even when I don't study I get decent grades, so sometimes I'll just skip studying all together (unless my grade is getting dangerously low in that subject).

If I can perhaps place my two cents, I took the OGT, which is mandatory for Ohio. I haven't taken the ACT or the SAT, but I took something called COMPASS which got me into the college I'm in now. I'm not sure if I need to take the SAT/ACT, but hopefully I don't.
