This just fits into the genre of fantasy in general (no dragons, sorry), but I was just wondering what everyone thought of this series and all the hype it's creating? As you may already know, the author is Stephanie Meyer, and there are four books: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn (which was just released august 4th). The movie for Twilight is coming out in December.
For those of you who don't know, the whole series is more or less about a girl who falls in love with a (by popular opinion of the girls who read the series) very hot vampire. Personally, I could care less for romance (and vampires) - I just like the few action/fantasy scenes (and the werewolves, I guess). This is a rather mature read, not for younger children, by the way. But what do you think of all this hype? I don't think the book is all that special - it just appeals to all those girls who wish they had an Edward Cullen in their life. Personally, I like Jacob Black better (he's the werewolf, who the main character also - in a way - falls in love with). Personally, I think they're all lovesick, emo idiots who all go suicidal whenever they think they're not loved by one of the other characters. *prepares to be killed by the many crazy-in-love-with-Edward/Jacob-fans of the series*
Okay, in all truth, I don't think that harshly of the book, just the fan hype. I swear, they all just read it so they can picture how amazing a fictional vampire is... Nothing personal to anyone else who reads the books. Anyway, anyone else read the books? I've only read the first two, so I don't even know how the story ends...
