Okay I was re-reading this book, 'The Fire Within' It's about this guy, David Rain, who moves into Wayward Crescent and rents a room in Elizabeth Pennykettle's house. I won't give away what goes on, but it's a book on dragons...At first I thought it was going a bit off with the story, like the beginning felt random to me, but as you read along in the series it's actually pretty interesting. I haven't read the latest book, The Fire Eternal, but I'm trying to get it at the library. Well...anybody read or heard of the books?

I've read the first three. I thought that that had finished the series. I'd seen "The Fire Eternal' in bookstores, but I haven't read it yet. But this is a great series. I re-read them earlier this year. For me, I never really expected what would happen, and the ending of the third book really stuck out in my mind. I have it in my mental list of two books that I've read that ended that way. (I obviously don't want to give it away, so I won't say more than that.
I never knew what the series was called, though. And I love how Chris D'Lacey (the author) ties in bigger themes that aren't apparent in the first book - fate, the nature of the universe, etc; stuff that real people actually think about. That kind of stuff (along with interesting explanations for them) really make the book seem more realistic. I love it. I really want to read the fourth one that came out, though I don't think it will be as good as the first three.
