Dude, this is really bugging me. I know someone who is like, "omg one day i was hecka depressed cause we didn't have a real Christmas tree one Christmas..." blah blah, we got in an argument. But...what kind of Christmas tree do you use? Real or Fake?
I use a fake Christmas tree because real trees are used for oxygen. If you leave them to grow, you're just saving another tree, another habitat...real trees also are more flammable than fake trees. Also, you save money if you just have one tree for a while other than buying a new tree every year.
I don't really see the need to go through all the trouble to go and use a fake tree...but lemme know if you use one and why...
Edit: Okay, I just realized something, I think that 'real' means an actual tree, and 'fake' means a plastic one

Well, I like fake trees better. Not so much because of the environment, because we can always plant more trees. I like fake trees better because they're easier to take care of, they don't make a big mess, you can keep them for years and years, and they're uniform. So, you don't get stuck with a really ugly tree. Plus I don't really like the smell of pine in my house. Not that I don't like the smell of pine, just not in my house.

That's true, but one of the fake trees that we've had for a while was loosing a lot of its needles, even though it was a fake tree...maybe it was just too old, but whatever...

It's more fun to go out and get a real tree than to put a fake one together unless, like this year, the world froze over. Hence why we used our fake tree this year.
I really don't have a preference. Real trees aren't hard to take care of, really. Just watering it daily. And they still have uses.
My dad's a tree hugger and would probably say fake all the way. But there's that Christmas experience of going tree hunting, and putting a fake tree together just doesn't have that magic to it. Of course, if the world froze over and all... freezing butts are not magical.

This was the first year I never had a tree. My mom just didn't want to deal with it this year, and since we always have a real tree, we didn't have any face one to put up. I like having a real tree (despite the fact that the two trees we've had the two years prior to this both fell on top of me). It seems less synthetic then (for obvious reasons). The whole experience of getting a tree is fun, too - usually, the christmas tree farm we go to hides Christmas related stuffed animals/dolls in the large grove, and if you find one you get a free hot chocolate. Also, me and my brother and the daughter of the people who own the tree farm usually play hide 'n seek in the trees, which is way more fun than regular hide 'n seek.
But this year, my mom didn't want to go through the trouble of getting a Christmas tree, putting up ornaments, vacuuming up needles when she doesn't get it out of the house for a month, etc. So we didn't have one. Personally, I was happy for the no wasted time.
