Well, since Sheena just went to camp, I though I'd start a topic on it. I normally go to 4-H camp over the summer, but this year I couldn't, due to my stupid word-processing summer-school course.
But does anyone else go to any other camps?

I normally go on a youth mission trip with my church, but this year, I didn't go. I just didn't feel like going. I've been having some family issues, and we had just moved when it was coming up. But last year we went to Mississippi to help with Katrina victims.

That sounds cool. Me and my family went to New Orleans and saw the damage there. If I was a member of my church's youth group, they do stuff like that every year, but I'm not.
4-H camp is pretty fun... canoeing, arts and crafts, archery (where I got one of my internet nicknames, arrowfoot).... it's all a good experience.

Yeah, is there any reason why you're not in your youth group? like are you not old enough, or do you just not want to join? If you don't want to say, it's ok, I respect that.
Back when I was in grade school my church has GA's, and they go to GA camp. We had archery, and swimming, arts and crafts, and character building exercises. And the year before I went, they had horse-back riding, but of course when I went, they didn't have it. But it was really fun anyway.

I don't join because I'm too busy most of the time. The main reason behind that is that my school is a 35 minute drive from my house, and I have to wait for my dad to finish with work for the day in order to leave. Otherwise, I would because I have a lot of friends in my parish CYO (children's youth organization).
After this year (which I couldn't attend) I think I am officially too old for camp. I'll have to be a counselor... at least if I want to go to camp. *shivers* I'm not sure if I can handle the responsibility... lol. Actually, I think I'll be okay, all I can hope is that I'm not put with the youngest groups of kids... I wouldn't enjoy that very much.

there was this camp in 5th grade to Walker Creek in Petaluma during school. it was sooooooo fun, we went on all day hikes, night hikes, we had a lot of free time, the food was awesome, the girls from our school got a 2 story cabin (a lot of cabins+space because we were sharing the camp with like 2 other schools) and then, there would be like....gardening. >_> and i had my b-day over there, so they gave me a cookie with ice cream...and... *is talking a lot*
Ok, the summer camp i went to was Wildside at Daybreak Christian Camp. there was, of course, worship, but it was better than my church...because it was funner. and of course, to make if funner, they had a lot of activities. and it was cheaper than than this other camp that advertised at my middle school. 2 weeks were like $1000. O__o;
...wow that was a lot for just me...>_>

I've got band camp going on right now... It's just a day thing, we go into school, have a break for dinner, then head back to the school for a couple more hours before going home... It makes me so tired...
It would be extremely fun if I was more social, but... I'm not. It would also be more fun if it didn't take me thirty minutes by car to get to the school, but that can't be helped...

Yeah, I'm not that social either. I have my group of friends, and I don't like venturing out of that group. I know that's not good, but it's just the way I am.
That really sounds like a lot of work. I would be exausted too. Then again, I wouldn't be in it in the first place, because I don't play anything, lol. I hope you do have some fun though.

Well, I thought I'd go ahead and revive this topic, since its subject is the reason I haven't been on much lately.
As I apparently was talking about almost a year ago, band camp is extremely tiresome. That's what I had going on for some of last week, all of this week, and some of next week. This week is the worst part - from eight in the morning to five in the evening, with a lot of marching in one hundred degree weather. My band director did give us a break today - we only marched in the morning, then focused solely on music and memorization during the afternoon. That's why I was finally able to work up the energy to get on and actually do some posting today~
Still, it's entertaining and fun, despite the work. I don't know if it's like this with all schools, but my school's band definitely attracts some of the funniest people in the school. (for example, four people came dressed like The Incredibles yesterday... with the red t-shirts with the logo and red shorts) And the music we're doing is great - all four of them are some of the most widely-known songs from the game Guitar Hero. And they make for surprisingly simple but good marching music.

Wow, sorry to hear it's so tiring. I'm assuming it would be, with the 100 degree weather and all. I have a friend in band, and she says it's really tiring too. At least he gave you a break. Some teachers can be really mean, and work you into the ground.
Well, at least you get some fun in it, with the people and all. There's a man at our church who came dressed up for a Halloween party with one of those Incredible T-shirts and red shorts on. It looked cool, and funny! Especially because, well let's just say he's built a lot like the Incredible dad, guy. Sorry, I don't rememer the name of the character, it's been a little while since I've seen the movie. Anyway, he looked like him.
I'm also glad you get to do cool songs! I love Guitar Hero, and a lot of their songs are great too.
Well, I hope you get some rest, and have some fun!
